It is a star shaped spice. Fruits are harvested just before ripening.
Its oil is highly fragrant and is used in cooking, perfumery, soaps,
toothpastes, mouthwashes and skin creams. Used as spice in the
preparation of Biriyani and Masala Chai all over Indian subcontinent.
Used in tea as a traditional remedy for rheumatism and the seeds are sometimes chewed after meals to help digestion
